Energetic branding photography for Beth Hicks

There’s something you should know about Beth.

She is energy.

She’s the happiest, most sunshine filled humans that just wants to help people, do all the things and have a bloody good giggle throughout the whole thing. She’s committed, consistent and just a wonderful human.

Now there’s something you should know about me.

I feed off of energy. The more chaotic the better. If you show up at a shoot a bit sad, limp and in a bad place I will get all the tools out of my tool kit to bring my ultimate hype girl to you. But you’ve got to run a couple of metres for me so I can run the mile for you.

With Beth, I didn’t need to worry about that. She came ready to play. She wanted all sides of her personality captured from the strategy side to the creative, bouncy, playful side. And boy did she deliver.

We spent the day together in Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross - one of my absolute favourite places to shoot. Kings Cross just literally has it all, concrete, exciting architecture, a canal, plants, great food, good shops, fab coffee and even a nature reserve.

As Beth is the epitome of countryside, she wanted a mix of soft greenery but also meeting room vibes.

Enter Impact Hub co-working. It’s a gorgeous community space with really reasonable priced, very cool meeting rooms which provided the perfect backdrop for the strategy side of our shoot.

Naturally we had a competition to see who could get the paper into the bin first and unfortunately I let Beth go first and she absolutely nailed it first time. Luckily the camera was rolling and we got my all time favourite GIF ever.

Once we had finished living our best London CEO life we headed to the nature reserve and went on a countryside-esque adventure across the canal and through the forest. From dancing and skipping across tree stumps to causing catwalk chaos amongst the commuters attempting a 5 minute wind down after work (whoops) and nearly falling in the pond a few times (double whoops) we finished off on the plant filled concrete veranda and took some truly beautiful photos of Beth living her best life.

I pinch myself every time that my job is literally to hang out and create art with really cool, passionate people.

Beth made this really cool reel of the day which gives you a nice behind the scenes sneak peek!

Here’s what she had to say about the shoot:

”I knew choosing the right photographer was going to be key. Because otherwise I'd just look scared of the camera.

I think it’s safe to say that this photographer was definitely Becky. This is my second “official” shoot with her now and once again, I’m thrilled with the photos.”
