Reasons to chat to a branding photographer in the summer

Summer is the season where a load of people switch off, step back and take their holidays. They pour wine whilst sitting on patios, have picnics in the park or feel the grass between their toes. I’m a huge advocate for that. You can often find me tending to my tomatoes in the greenhouse or drinking copious amounts of wine in the sun too (hey, i’m just being honest).

But what if I told you that the summer was the absolute BEST time to have a photoshoot for your business.

Let’s dive into a touch of photography theory for a second. Three things make a great photo - composition (fancy term for the position stuff is in the photo to make it interesting), the moment (like your natural laughter or a seagull stealing a chip from a child) and LIGHT. Now dreamy, golden sunshine you have in abundance in the summer. Much more than in the winter - although a low sun at 4pm on a sunny winter day cannot be beaten. You also get to play with shadows and a whole load of nerdy photography things that I can talk about all day but you’re probably not that interested in!

But the best part about having a branding photoshoot in the sunshine is the things it will do to you.

You wont have to panic about your hair being ruined, whether you remembered waterproof mascara or get an umbrella to match your brand colours. (Side note, rainy shoots are also fun and I have clear ones for you to play with). Frolicking is actively encouraged by even the grumpiest of spectators and people are always out doing weird things so basically no one will look at you if it’s just the nerves that are putting you off from dropping me a line and getting that shoot booked in.

You can be much free-er with your outfit choice.

You don’t have to worry about goosebumps or fingers turning blue in the name of fashion. You can wear that lightweight summer dress that makes you feel great. You can grab those summer sandals or if barefoot field skipping is the vibe lets set that up.

Take a look at some of these sun drenched photos and see for yourself exactly why you should have your photo taken this summer.

If you’re looking to add some summery flavour to your brand photos then get in touch today, before we lose the light and head back into winter coat season.
